Peddling Protectionism: Smoot-Hawley and the Great Depression by Douglas A. Irwin

A good companion to 1929, the book I just read. It has a tendency to devolve into economist speak that may be difficult for a lay reader, but the book does have some interesting points about trade and the inter-dependence of nations.
