This is the only remnant from my 3 years of high school Latin, back when I thought A) I was going to be a doctor, and B) I can improve my vocabulary by learning Latin. A didn’t happen when I realized I couldn’t stand looking at internal organs. B also didn’t happen because years 2 and 3 of Latin became odious translations of forum speeches, mostly Cicero. This dictionary sadly was no help with translating forum speeches. In fact, the Latin language is truly complex enough that a mere show more dictionary of this size is not realistic, i.e. not useful. Save the money and go buy something else more substantial. show less
An excellent resource. Provides phrases, example conversations, and translations for common modern words into latin. This book is a key aid for learning the tongue of the romans. The only truly effective way to become fluent in latin, is to speak it on a regular basis. This book provides a key aid for this practice.
Yes, I know it's a very slim shot I'll ever use a Latin-English dictionary again. But Latin was such a strong point in my secondary and college education, I can't bear to get rid of the book. Maybe my boys will take Latin some day. Yeah, right.
