Reviews
This author has written several previous books about medical issues for the laymen. I have read none of them but picked up this book because it is a memoir of a life in medicine, an area of interest for me. I learned why this man chose medicine and about his training which took place in Canada, the US and Britian. He settled in New York and began a career during which he treated both the common folk and celebrities. This book is packed full of stories about patients diagnosed and treated, show more each telling remarkable in some surpring manner. Ethics are strongly emphasized. At the conclusion, the state of health care in this country, present and future, are discussed . An interesting, informative and entertaining read. show less
