Soul Medicine Awakening your Inner Blueprint for Abundant Health and Energy
By Norman Shealy and Dawson Church
Ah ha… so good to see more alternative medical works on the power of the mind!
Soul medicine as primary care? Yes. You will have to read how this can happen.
Energy healing starts with opening your mind.
Energy follows thoughts and intentions are everything.
Shealy, a neurosurgeon and Dawson, a clinical researcher, explains how future medicine can be more about the mind and spirit and show more less about medications!
This book is well researched, well written and encapsulates the history of energy healing, its mechanisms, and a “how to” self-help tool for your own personal growth. There is a fabulous chapter on how acupuncture works in electromagnetic terms.
“Magic precedes science.” I was fascinated to read about outstanding healers of our time in conjunction with medical research proving the effectiveness of energy trials.
The book has many clinical and case studies that will educate you, and keep you turning pages for more information. It’s packed with interesting and empowering information to help you learn more.
I thought I knew a lot about the mind, body, spirit, but was happy to discover new variations on the theme.
This book is useful to the layperson, the medical community and anyone discouraged and dissatisfies with their western medicine protocols.
Life can be so much more and this book discusses how and why.
Great read!

The healing remedies sourcebook : over 1000 natural remedies to prevent and cure common ailments by C. Norman Shealy
This wasn't quite what I was hoping it would be, but I'm still giving it 4 stars because it's a wealth of information and comprehensively spans more than I ever wanted to know about.
My goal when I bought this book was to learn more about how I could use what I grow in my garden and as a bonus, perhaps get some ideas for other plants I could add.
I got almost exactly that - and I learned a lot about what a tincture is versus a decoction, versus a poultice... things I always sort of wondered show more about but not enough to actually look up.
The book is setup to cover 5 'schools' of healing remedies: Ayurvedic, Traditional Chinese Herbs, Folklore Herbalism, Flower Essences, and Vitamins/Supplements and I suppose this is where it fell short for me in a perverse way; I got more than I wanted. I was really just looking for a resource that would cover Folklore Herbalism and perhaps an easy botanical reference of plants that were known to have healing properties. Oh, and how to use them properly/effectively. This book has a few recipes, but not as much as I'd have liked.
I'm glad I bought it and I know I'll use it (I used it this morning, in fact) but I'm still on the look-out for something closer to what I'm looking for. show less

The illustrated food remedies sourcebook : an A-Z of the foods that can be used as natural remedies to prevent & cure common ailments by C. Norman Shealy
A comprehensive overview of the nutritional benefits of whole food. It's good, and I'll use it, but I couple of times the author makes remarks that make me think he's a little bit whacked.
I'm still on the lookout for something a bit... more.

The Creation of Health: The Emotional, Psychological, and Spiritual Responses That Promote Health and Healing by Caroline Myss
After providing an introduction to intuitive medicine and its history, method of diagnosis, and relationship to traditional medicine, Myss and Shealy detail the deeper emotional and psychic reasons why illness develops in the body. Dr. Shealy offers a traditional account of a particular disease or ailment, while Dr. Myss sheds light on the deeper emotional and psychic causes through her corresponding energy analysis.
