This book is an interesting experiment, and certainly of historical value, but in the end, I'm afraid it fails. It comes off as rather forced and boring, and the characters, while believable, are unengaging and unsympathetic. If you want an early picture of New Orleans or you're interested in the history of the picture, this book might be for you. Otherwise, I'd avoid it, unless you simply want to get an idea of what's been tried stylistically, in which case you might read the first few show more dozen pages and see what you think. For me, it was far too drawn out. show less
One man's struggle to identify and define privilege for himself. Helpful as a 101 for those who are just beginning to question their unearned privilege.
