A Critical Handbook of Children's Literature (6th Edition) by Rebecca J. Lukens

A great resource for learning and understanding how to critically analyze children's literature, particularly fiction, non-fiction, poetry and biography. At this point, the book could use an updating of referenced titles and terminology but otherwise the whole is extremely valuable.
