Tempted by Her Billionaire Boss
3 Stars

When his regular PA goes on maternity leave, billionaire CEO Harrison Grant reluctantly takes on his brother's assistant, Francesca Masseria, even though she is proving to be an alluring distraction. Frankie is mortified when she accidentally has her new boss cuffed by security, and is eager to make up for her mistake even though her methods aren't exactly in the job description.

While the office-romance trope is a favorite of mine and the underlying show more premise of this story is very appealing, the convoluted prose makes it difficult to wade through an otherwise charming romance.

Harrison and Francesca are both engaging characters and they have wonderful chemistry. He is dark, brooding and self-absorbed, but also loyal and intelligent enough to acknowledge his own shortcomings. Frankie is sweet, caring and honest. She stands up to Harrison when he needs it and ultimately brings out the best in him.

Unfortunately, the story is undermined by the problematic writing, which starts off with one of the most incomprehensible sentences that I've ever encountered. Thankfully, the writing does improve as the book progresses and it is entertaining overall.

The Italian's Deal for I do by Jennifer Hayward is a 2015 Harlequin Presents publication.

In keeping with the glamorous Harlequin Presents tradition, we meet a sexy Italian billionaire named Rocco who runs a fashion industry empire, and Olivia, former supermodel whose mother was once in love with Rocco's grandfather.

Sadly, Rocco's loses his grandfather and is stunned to discover that the old man added a clause or codicil in his will preventing Rocco from taking the deciding shares of the show more company. It is suggested to Rocco that if he proved he could settle down and put his playboy days behind him, the board might be willing to turn over the controlling shares.

But, the surprises aren't over as Rocco also learns his grandfather has been paying for a young lady's apartment and he immediately rushes to judgment about he nature of the relationship.

When he meets Olivia, and hears her story, he is highly skeptical, but offers her a way to continue working on her fashion line and market it, but the catch is she must pretend to be his fiance.

The fashion industry is examined and the dark underbelly is exposed as a result. Olivia is to be admired for turning her back on money and fame before she became a casualty. Olivia is talented, determined and strong willed on one hand, but she has a vulnerability that shakes Rocco to the core. I liked her for the most part and was happy to see her gain the freedom to pursue her goals and dreams.

Rocco, is hot tempered, driven, and pushy...very pushy. But, he also has a soft side and can be as vulnerable as Olivia. I liked Rocco best when he wasn't being judgmental and presumptuous. But, unlike many heroes in HP, he's not a complete jerk and he folds easily with Olivia once he puts his fear, and stubborn pride behind him.

Both characters saw growth and learned that while love can have a dark side , it also has great power and it's all they need to make things work between them.

This is one the best recent HP novels I have read in a while and I loved, loved, loved the suspenseful ending and the HEA!

The Divorce Party gives the reader a unique, insider perspective on the De Campo's glitzy Manhattan marriage. The characters of Lilly and Riccardo are outwardly glamorous but the glossy veneer hides insecurity, illness and resentment.

Lilly took drastic action to capture her sexy show more husband's full attention. She ran away. The couple have barely spoken in their year apart and are only meeting now because Riccardo has thrown an elaborate divorce party and Lilly must attend if she wants her divorce.

The Divorce Party captures the bitchy, superficial nature of the tabloid gossip columns and society's 'beautiful' people perfectly. Riccardo persuades Lilly to resurrect their marriage until he becomes CEO of De Campo wines. Reluctantly she agrees. Riccardo has a secret agenda which brings Lilly to breaking point.

The sensuality which binds the couple is palpable and the reason Riccardo really wants Lilly back in his life. Single minded and ruthless Ricardo ignores his effect on his wife and her emotional needs in true 'Mr Darcy' style.

Lilly is a strong, independent woman who left her home and family to become a successful physiotherapist in New York. Only the needs of her younger sister make her agree to Riccardo's ultimatum. Can she survive Riccardo's passionate nature and live the life of a trophy wife without compromising her health and self-esteem?

The Divorce Party is a poignant love story of sacrifice, secrets and love.
