I remember this book from my own childhood - back in the days when illustrating was a tedious 4-color separation process, resulting in most illustrations being only 2 color. Somehow, 2 color illustrations make pictures seem simpler to me, and this nostalgic imagery lends itself to the sweet and simple story of the text; a mother rabbit and her bunny searching for the perfect home for winter.

Broody Hen's six eggs are about to hatch. Little Chick is worried that Duckling won't play with him anymore when the new chicks arrive. But nothing can take the place of a true pal.

"Come, Little Chick," clucked Broody Hen. "It is time for your nap." "No! I'm too big for naps!" yelled Little Chick. And she ran far away. Is Little Chick lost?
