There's not much I can say that other reviewers have not already said. Like many of Andersen's other works this story has a moral and carries the theme of good overcoming evil but man did it get weird in some parts especially near the end as the Christian theme becomes glaring.

The one thing I have to wonder - and have wondered for a long time - is what it was like for the poor princess, stuck there in the marsh for some 20 years before her daughter managed to rescue her.
I watched my niece's drama club put this on and it was hard to hear all the words so I can't really comment on the story but it's a cool hybrid Norse/Egyptian piece of weirdness and Luisa was Odin and did a divination dance to a dumb dubstep beat in a sack and a fake beard, so it's hard not to rate this one high.
Discovered by a stork and raised by Vikings, Helga lives an enchanted existence as a beautiful but vicious human child by day and a gentle but ugly toad by night, until finding her true home by the waters of the Nile. Source: LOC
