About the Author

Chris Costner Sizemore was born Christine Costner on April 4, 1927, in Edgefield, South Carolina. She suffered from dissociative identity disorder that was the result of series of gruesome incidents she witnessed including her mother being injured in a kitchen accident, the funeral of an infant, show more the dragging of a corpse from a ditch, and a man being injured at a lumber mill. She never finished high school. Her initial integration of three personalities was documented in a book written by psychiatrists Corbett H. Thigpen and Hervey M. Cleckley and adapted into the 1957 movie The Three Faces of Eve. Other personalities appeared, usually in groups of three. She began treatment with Tony Tsitos in 1970 and was no longer dissociating by 1974. She wrote two memoirs entitled I'm Eve and A Mind of My Own. She eventually became a mental health advocate and figurative painter. She died from a heart attack on July 24, 2016 at the age of 89. (Bowker Author Biography) show less
