3605. Justices, Presidents and Senators: A History of the U.S. Supreme Court Appointments from Washington to Clinton New and Revised Edition by Henry J. Abraham (read 22 July 2002) I know, I know, this is a reference work, but I found it of such compelling interest I read it cover to cover in less than two days. It tells of every nomination to the Supreme Court, with words on how those who were confirmed did on the Court, giving a ranking for all: eight ranked as "great" and eight as show more "failures" with the rest ranked in between. This is a great book, filled with interesting information, and so easy to read I gobbled it up. show less

This book consists of a reasonable overview of the US, English, and French judicial systems. In addition, a variety of interesting comparisons are made between them.
