Heart of Darkness: Unraveling the Mysteries of the Invisible Universe (Science Essentials) by Jeremiah P. Ostriker
Another cosmology popularization, emphasizing dark matter and dark energy. The well-qualified authors evidently consider these to be exotic enough without going on to say much about the anthropic principle and multiverse concepts.
An impressive book. Now rather dated but I was just re-reading it and regretting that I have to donate the book because my library has outgrown the storage space. Pity. I just wish I had all the knowledge that is contained in the book from the details of the phases of the moon through to nucleosynthesis in the stars and in our sun. Four stars from me.
