A coffee table book, yes but nicely produced. Not as exciting as Total Chaos but worth the time to peruse. Best enjoyed while listening to the specific songs as one reads the lyrics.
Given that this tells the story of an early explosion in creativity followed by subsequent slow decline, the book inevitably becomes more boring as it goes on. No real surprising insights into the man or his music.
Celebration book filled with photographs and lyrics from his songs. Includes some text from various people who know/knew Iggy; Glen Craig, Danny Fields, Bowie, Steve Emberton, Debbie Harry, Ester Friedman, Will Self, Mick Rock, Chris Stein, Virginia Turbett, and more. The book mostly leaves your head ringing with his songs, although it certainly doesn't cover all of them.
Today’s selection from “1001 Albums You Must Listen To Before You Die” by Robert Dimery. 1977. The 2nd collaboration between proto-punk rocker Iggy Pop and David Bowie. Excellent.
