I'd read the book of Genesis umpteen times. Knew all the stories like the back of my hand. What more could I glean from yet another read? Accompanying reading with David Guzik's FABULOUS commentary (in which he points out parallels with rest of Bible, cites other writers etc) I garnered SO MUCH MORE insigt. It makes familiar stuff interesting and enthralling instead of just another trawl through familiar text. Am halfway through his Exodus commentary as I write, copying out all the useful show more comments (most of the work) as I go. Utterly recomended...and all available for free online! show less

Mr Guzik continues his brilliant Bible commentary, following the Israelites' lacklustre spell in the wilderness, and highlighting God's endless mercy and forebearance. BRILLIANT resource...tomorrow we start Deuteronomy!

My heart sank as I embarked on Leviticus in my attempt to re-read Bible. It was all full of sacrifice and obscure laws....Not so! With Mr Guzik's brilliant commentary, I feel I've picked up on the POINT of a lot of this. There IS relevance, it DOES show God as abundantly merciful. I'm going to do the whole bible alongside 'Enduring Word' online commentaries. Utterly recommended.

I thought the Psalms were boring and repetitive. Till now...the WEALTH of insight from this commentary! The passages from other Bible writers - Spurgeon in particular- just added SO MUCH to my understanding of this Book.
