The final sequence has way too many logic holes (the Blu-ray interestingly included a darker original alternate ending that made much more sense), and the movie is a decidedly more compelling one during the Simon Says portion than afterwards, but this is still the second-best film in the Die Hard franchise. Hardly a moment of exposition is wasted (literally every little thing in this film is brought back and paid off at some point), great rapport between Jackson and Willis and a very show more memorable use of "Johnny Comes Marching Home" throughout the score. And (pleasantly like the first two films in this regard) a very memorable performance from the main villain. The final scenes leave a bit of a bad aftertaste upon finishing any rewatch, but this is otherwise always a fun ride of a film. show less
Thieves take over a skyscraper, with Bruce Willis inside it.
Ah, the late 1980's... when every movie released in December, no matter the genre, was infused with Christmas carols. Surprisingly entertaining for what it is. Filled with corny cliches, but fun. This sort of thing is why I love the IMDb's Top 250 list: I don't think anyone would seriously consider putting Die Hard on a general list of Great Movies, but people love it, so it's on the list, no questions asked.

Pretty bloody insane but a hella fun romp, even if the technology feels out of date as of the time of this review (2025)
A kid magically enters a corny Arnold Schwarzenegger movie.
3/4 (Good).
It's a weird movie, and long. I guess I can understand why people don't like it. But they're wrong.
