Writer for Hire isn't for anyone seeking a comprehensive guide to the current world of freelancing. It is, however, full of useful hints and tips for those seeking ways to help bolster their current freelance work/attitude.
Before you spend thousands of hours researching and writing a book, only to be rejected by several big-name publishers, and decide your only option is publish-on-demand, read this book. All your friends and relatives are telling you, "You need to write a book, and you'll get rich." However, none of those friends and relatives have ever written a book, and none of those friends and relatives have ever gotten rich writing books. Kelly James-Enger has not only written and sold books, she has show more experience in publishing with nationally-known publishers, publishing e-books and publishing print-on-demand books. She not only has published books, but more importantly, her books are selling and she's making good money in the book market. One question potential book-writers never ask is, who's going to buy it, how am I going to let them know about the book, and how many books can I sell before I publish it? These are all critical answers that you'll find in James-Enger's book. If you've ever considered print-on-demand, read this book before you jump off that cliff, and then start looking for a parachute. show less
I read this one on my recent road trip. It was a good read...it made me develop strong feelings for the characters. One of them I didn't like very much, but then, you don't have to like them all. The fact it brought those feeling out proved that it did the job!
The best how-to book on ghostwriting and coauthoring with advice from many seasoned veteran ghostwriters. This book details the considerations for bidding on and managing small and large ghostwriting projects with example contracts and a thorough discussion of the considerations of this profitable market and the skills and temperament needed to be successful in it.
