William Kershner died in early 2007. Logging Flight Time is a collection of his short pieces that talk about his fifty years of primary flight instruction, military flying, flight testing, and aerobatics instruction. When I was taking lessons for my private certificate, a Tucson CFI asked me what book I was using for preparation, and when I said Kershner’s The Student Pilot’s Flight Manual she said, “Oh, he’s the technical one. He’ll give you graphs and tables for everything.” I show more was grateful for the graphs and tables, being a person who thinks more information is always better. But Kershner is always entertaining as well. show less
This book is the standard reference for flyers who want to learn aerobatics. Explore basic maneuvers from stalls and spins, to loops and rolls. Explains and illustrates 26 aerobatic maneuvers in a six-lesson supplement to introductory aerobatics instruction. Emphasizes the Cessna Aerobat, but is easily modified for other types of aerobatic planes.
Highly recommended for any pilots who are training, have trained, or are thinking of training to do aerobatic work. (Which I recommend for pretty much all pilots.) I'm sure I will continue coming back to this reference as I continue my sporadic aerobatic studies.
