The wonderful, humorous illustrations really tell the story in this book. This authentic story of a family vacation from told from different family members' perspectives is sincere and funny.

I love Roland Harvey's detailed illustrations, plenty of interesting things to point out. My reluctant reader loves them. I love the text which models children's postcards, letters and journals. I bought this book on the success of Roland Harvey's [At the Beach, postcards from Crabby Spit].

This book is about a family who takes a trip to Crabby Spit and they write postcards to their grandma about how their trip is going. This book is great for children because it uses great illustrations of the beach and a lot of imagination. I rated this book 4 out of 5 because this would be a good book to use when talking about the ocean or even the stars because it gives great examples of different sea creatures and also one of the postcards talks about and satellites.

Fantastic illustrations, great text, wonderful for my reluctant reader. I bought this for our latest visit to an Aussie beach after RR borrowed it from the mobile library twice!
