nonfiction/memoir (gun violence trauma, physical abuse trauma, child abuse, racial injustice, social injustice, gun-carrying father with dementia). Author is Métis (mixed heritage Native maintaining connections with Native tribe(s)).
There is so much contained, and not contained, in these pages. Jensen relates the very personal trauma she knows about (which is more than enough for many lifetimes), and attempts to bring a semblance of order to the terrible, fearful reality that many people show more find themselves in today.
Highly recommended, for everyone except those who experience PTSD from the multiple potential triggers. show less

Powerful collection of essays. I will think about this book for a long time. Two things were distracting to me: her habit of giving dictionary definitions, and her vocal quality as narrator of her book.
