I LOVE little booklets like this!
Quick reads for an inspirational lift during the day!

"You never know when you will be called upon to exercise the priesthood."

Therefore it is so important to ALWAYS be ready and willing.

"David J. Ridges shares examples of priesthood power in action and addresses ways to strive to be ready at all times to administer to the sick and give blessings of counsel and comfort."

A couple of my favorite quotes:

"Worthiness does not imply nor require perfection. But it show more does mean striving to live in accordance with gospel standards."

"Having the authority does not necessarily guarantee that we also have the power of this wonderful priesthood."

"Faith plays an important role in unlocking the power of the priesthood."

There are SOME REALLY GREAT STORIES of faith being used during blessings.

This booklet will help men "gain confidence and increase preparation so that they can use the priesthood at a moment's notice."

PERFECT FOR FATHER'S DAY!

Ridges has some nice insights and I appreciate his thoughts. But I am constantly annoyed by the formatting of this book. It would be much, much better if it were re-formatted. It can be confusing at times because Ridges puts his own thoughts right into the middle of the actual scriptural text. It's fine most of the time, but sometimes he takes long tangents and starts quoting other scriptures. Often, I want to skip his commentary unless I have a question, but the formatting makes it show more difficult to skip the commentary. If Ridges commentary were just in a different color or font or in a different column, it would make it much more accessible for study and research. I would then wholeheartedly recommend this series as a study tool.

My other complaint is that sometimes Ridges sees the need to explain the obvious. I can't fault him too much for that though because other people may enjoy his clarifications.
