This volume contains some extremely important essays by the great eclectic economist, Sir John Hicks. I may disagree with "Is Interest a Price of a Factor of Production?" but I've got to admit, his point fascinates . . . and he begins with a hilarious anecdote about the Baptists of his day!

Part V, a series of reviews of previous economic masters (some almost obscure) is worth the price of the book. And in the final section, his essay "A Discipline Not a Science" is must reading for all who show more are interested in the philosophical foundations of social science. show less
