Unappealing boy-child razzes when his hairdresser mother tries to crop his mop, so she gives him a big cuddle. Obviously a case of real life transferred direct to kids' book with zero authorial mediation, which as usual results in indulgent irrelevance. Half a star for smart typography.
When Solomon tries to dress himself, disaster ensues. His shirt ends up on his legs, his sock on his hand, and his pants on his head. It's getting late so Daddy intervenes and all goes smoothly...for a while. Far more than a book about getting dressed, it captures the complex relationship between parent and child, with both wacky humor and exquisite tenderness.

A cute version of the Twelve Days of Christmas song for Hanukkah. The pictures are colorful and lively, and the text easy to sing. I just wish the last line wasn't always "a present waiting for me" but was about a candle instead.
A book about a little girl that doesn’t quite know or understand what sharing is. It takes her nana to teach her and eventually she learns! Although this story is lacking in a strong plot, the expressive facial expressions make it easy for children to identify the present emotions or at least relate to the character. The pictures flow with the text of the story. In social-moral development this book is all about very young children learning cooperation and pro-social behavior. Suitable for show more ages 1-4.
