This decades-old book was considered something of an authoritative text in its time. I found it interesting, informative and quaint altogether. It is an encyclopedia of fishes, the first eighty pages being a general introduction to fish biology plus instructions on their care, feeding and management like usual. A lot of the basics are still the same, but some of the info is astonishingly outdated. You can bet that most of the species in the book were quite hardy to withstand the relatively show more primitive care they received back then.

This is an incredibly old and outdate book. The methods used are obsolete, but the fish identification information is still valuable. I've had this one since I was a kid!
This is a very useful book about tropical aquarium fish. I've had my copy for decades, and have used it for reference many times. This edition is date, however; there are books with better photographs availalbe now.
An older but definitive work on aquarium fish.
