Watched mostly for something to do while exercising. Learned lots about the period and persons that I didn't know, although I have read a lot about that era. Performances were good, but more appropriate to stage than film. Costumes and settings were magnificent.
I classed it as fiction rather than nonfiction, despite the accuracy of the script, because it is a docudrama, not a documentary.

Chased by Daleks through time and space.
Just plain dumb. Every now and then they have to bring in Terry Nation to write a story, to make the rest of the show look good by comparison. It could have been a lot worse (and some 1980s stuff is a lot worse), but I can't think of any significant redeeming value.

Doctor Who - The Beginning (An Unearthly Child [1963] / The Daleks [1963] / The Edge of Destruction [1964]) [DVD] by Verity Lambert
Overall this is not a bad collection of the very first episodes. Story 002 introduces us to the Daleks in a decent story line and tells of a plant effected by Nuclear war as a warning of would could of happened at the time 1963.
