Okay, guys: Does the thought of using and (*shiver*) Learning AACR2 fill you with Dread? This is the book for you, chummer! It's a handy little reference book designed to help you across the bumps if you have a rudimentary understanding of AACR2 and MARC and a great learning tool if you're a beginner. Buy it, you cataloging fool!

Really, is anyone allowed to say anything bad about the driest, most anal-retentive set of rules ever created? But we need it and live by it, so what can you do.
How many non-librarians would have a copy of this book in their collections? One of the things I love about my English professor husband. I think he was a librarian in a former life! Anyway, this book is his, not mine and yes, I know it's out of date! --RJM 10/11/05
The most important reference source for cataloging. I really preferred this older edition more so than the most current form, as this is actually in book form. All the current editions are in binder form so they can be more easily updated whenever something changes. I am using this book in a cataloging class for library tech degree.
