Interesting and informative. Rare must be a subjective term; presumably Holstein cows are rare in some parts of the world, but in my geographical area they are your standard issue dairy cow and we have lots of them.

The author probably should have omitted horses from this book; they are a world unto themselves and you would need a separate book to cover all the rare breeds of equine.

This is a nice, glossy book with great photos and even a person who knows nothing about livestock or animal show more husbandry could pick it up and find something of interest. show less
