Storm Warning: (Christian Romantic Suspense Thriller with Mystery and Survival Set at a Washington Storm Lodge) by Elizabeth Goddard
The Hidden Bay series gets rolling with this unputdownable, heart-racing romantic suspense story. Set in the Pacific Northwest, non-stop action, mystery, and unexpected twists kept me totally engaged from beginning to end. Every answer found in the fast-paced plot, loaded with secrets, necessitates a new question. Even though I had inklings of the identities of two of the “bad guys”, I was not confident in my assessment until it was revealed on the page. The immersive setting provides a show more vividly sketched backdrop that heightens the tension and danger. The storms raging outside are indicative of the storms raging in the minds and souls of the characters. Former army photographer Remi Grant has forgotten memories of a past traumatic event that she needs to remember, and former military pilot Hawke Beckett has memories of a past traumatic event that he is trying to forget. They are complex characters who are easy to care about and who compelled me to root for their safety and a positive outcome. Romantic undertones add another layer of interest. I appreciate the encouraging faith moments sprinkled throughout the story. I recommend this book as a must read for fans of inspirational romantic suspense and look forward to the next book in the series.

Hidden in the Night: (Murder Investigation and Missing Person in Romantic Suspense Thriller Set in Picturesque Alaska) by Elizabeth Goddard
I was on a suspense reading-binge in December. I took some time off from book tours and book festival business, and just read for pleasure. Mystery/suspense is my go-to genre choice, and I had a blast reading what I wanted! One of the books I read was Hidden in The Night, Elizabeth Goddard‘s final book in the Missing in Alaska series. It was great! I loved the characters — the chemistry between the two main characters happened before the action in this book and it developed as fast as show more the action. The plot — a missing manuscript and a missing woman — intertwined in intriguing ways. I loved that the author created a lost book written by Jack London, a fascinating figure in his own right. While the book and its accompanying curse were purely fictional, it ignited a lot of what-ifs in the real world. The setting brought back memories of two trips my husband and I took to Alaska. The scenery is breathtaking, and Goddard did a good job of making the reader feel they were right there. I admit I was surprised to look up after being immersed in the book and not finding the ground outside my windows covered in snow! 😉 As always, Goddard weaves a faith message naturally in the narrative. I appreciate the struggles the characters faced — they will resonate with many readers.
A very satisfying ending to a wonderful series, Hidden in The Night is a recommended read.

Hidden in the Night: (Murder Investigation and Missing Person in Romantic Suspense Thriller Set in Picturesque Alaska) by Elizabeth Goddard
Thoroughly enjoyed this action packed, edge of your seat, romantic suspense! Elizabeth Goddard is quickly becoming a favorite, must read author in this genre. Hidden in the Night starts off with a bang and doesn’t let up. I was immediately invested in the plight of Ivy Elliot and her search for a lost Jack London manuscript. She ventures from sunny Florida to frigid, beautiful Alaska, known as the “land of the lost” on a quest to buy it. But, when she arrives, the manuscript is missing show more along with the young woman who was supposed to deliver it to her. She asks for help from the Alaska State Troopers not realizing it’s the handsome Nolan Long whom she met briefly several months ago who’ll be assisting her. Will they be able to solve the complicated mystery involving murders, blackmail, a missing woman, and a potential deadly secret before they become the next targets?
I loved this book! It definitely pulled me in and was impossible to put down. The chemistry between Ivy & Nolan was explosive. They’re both reluctant to express their feelings mainly because of how far apart they live from each other & Ivy’s mother’s cancer diagnosis. But, every time they’re together, there’s a sizzling, underlying current between them. I enjoyed how they grew closer as they’re put in one challenging situation after another. Ivy has reasons why she left the FBI and Nolan’s suffering from an incident in his past as well. Both experiences are teased out as the story progresses and added even more depth to their already complex characters.
The mystery was so full of twists and turns. The missing manuscript is just one piece of the puzzle. There are numerous attempts on Ivy’s life and I was on pins and needles wondering when the next attempt would come. The setting is amazing and I loved the vivid descriptions of the terrain. I almost needed a blanket while reading because I could easily imagine those freezing temperatures. The ending was a shocking surprise as all the clues come together reaching a nail biting climax.
Highly recommend this thrilling, romantic suspense with a touch of faith! Though it’s part of a series, it can easily be read as a standalone, however it was fun seeing characters from previous books. Looking forward to the next book from this author! I received an advanced complimentary copy from the author & publisher. All opinions are my own and voluntarily provided. show less

Storm Warning: (Christian Romantic Suspense Thriller with Mystery and Survival Set at a Washington Storm Lodge) by Elizabeth Goddard
Fantastic!
Storm Warning by Elizabeth Goddard left me utterly drenched in suspense and awe. This book unleashed a storm of emotions and faith, and I couldn't look away. The tension was palpable, and the danger relentless, but it was the underlying thread of God's presence that truly held my attention and my heart.
Remi Grant is a woman battling the tides of her own memory, haunted by a past she can't fully grasp. As the storms roar around her, she tries to hold on, but it's clear the storm show more within is just as fierce. I loved how Remi's journey was about finding peace, remembering who she truly was, and trusting that God would never leave her, no matter how isolated she felt as she recited from memory Psalm 93:3-4: “The waves roar, O Lord, the waves roar, the waves roar and crash. Above the sound of the surging water, and the mighty waves of the sea, the Lord sits enthroned in majesty.” Remi’s faith became the anchor in the chaos of her storm.
Hawk Beckett, the strong yet silent former military pilot, carries the heavy burden of past failures. What truly resonated with me was how, in his darkest moments, Hawk found himself crying out to God—something he hadn’t done in far too long. “Maybe that’s what despair did. It brought a man to his knees before God.” There’s a raw power in witnessing a man, broken by his past, still turning to the Lord. It’s a moment that shapes his character and touches the heart of the reader, reminding us of the transformative power of genuine faith in our own lives.
What I truly admired was the way the characters prayed. It wasn't forced or artificial. They prayed like they breathed, with an openness that felt natural, powerful, and real. They didn’t just seek God when things got tough—they constantly recognized His presence and His answers. Remi’s faith was quiet but fierce, while Hawk’s was humbling, and together they formed a partnership not just of survival, but of trust in God's protection, guidance, and provision.
The remote setting of the Washington coast was almost a character in itself—dangerous, isolating, and wild—just like the turmoil the characters were facing. It was impossible to ignore the crashing waves of both the literal and figurative kind. With every page, I was pulled deeper into this mystery, feeling the weight of the storm as it raged around these characters. And yet, no matter how heavy the winds blew, the underlying theme was one of God’s unshakable presence. God is still on His throne, no matter the storm.
This book is a thrilling ride, yes, with twists, danger, and unexpected surprises, and it is a profound reflection of how faith can carry us through the wildest of storms—both external and internal. Storm Warning didn’t just keep me turning pages—it kept me praying along with the characters, reminding me that no matter how high the waves rise, God is above them all.
If you’re looking for a story that blends pulse-pounding suspense with unwavering Christian faith, then Storm Warning is your book. It will keep you on your toes, but more than that, it will leave you with the reminder that, even when everything feels out of control, God is always right where He needs to be—enthroned in majesty.
