I am not a fan of Mark Wahlberg so was rather reluctant to see this film. But my brother said it was good so I did watch it. It's always hard to watch this kind of film based on true events especially ones that are so recent. One is never sure if it's exploiting other people's misery and giving the terrorists the publicity they crave. Actually not sure where I fall on this feeling. The film was "enjoyable" if one can say that about something like this. But I do have mixed feelings about this show more kind of film. show less
C (Indifferent).
A superhero is a self-destructive jerk. What a mess of a movie. It only starts to give us the character's backstory in the second half, after his character arc is already wrapped up. Then it barrages us with a series of "twists," every one of which is arbitrary and nonsensical.

A mob enforcer tries to retrieve a treasure-hunter from the Amazon.
2.5/4 (Okay).
There isn't anything original in the movie except for a few good Christopher Walken lines, but I guess it's more-or-less entertaining.

Flawed but interesting. I'm not a fan of Mark Wahlberg but he managed not to be too annoying in this. I did struggle with some of the strong US accents at times.
