The journalist Guy Lefranc and his sidekick Jeanjean crash their plane and are hosted by an old woman and her granddaughter, but it turns out that the solution to the mystery lies in the past and a mysterious devil who worked during the Hundred Years War. For a series that deals very much with contemporary life, it's very surprising to find that this one is so much based in magic and fantasy. I do enjoy it very much - it may in fact be my favorite in the series - but it is very different show more from the others. show less
In Guy Lefranc's first album, his nemesis (to be) Axel Borg has hidden nuclear weapons and the race is on to make sure that once they are deployed (as you know they will be - this is a Bond-type story after all), something clever will be done to make sure they do no harm. This is one of my favorite series from childhood and I reread them as much as I can - the characters are great and the stakes are extremely high for everyone involved. The art is very clear and colorful too - this is a show more spectacularly good example of Franco-Belgian comics. show less
Axel Borg has a plan to cause a huge inflation by smuggling false currency, and decides to kidnap Guy Lefranc and Jeanjean so that they can't stop him. Another great installment in a great action series - exciting plots, high stakes, believable characters, and very colorful art. My all-time favorite comicbook series.
A small Swiss village is suffering attacks by a mysterious enemy who signs their attacks with a wolf's head and Guy Lefranc unveils a treason by the village's leaders that completely destroyed a whole family financially as well as physically. Another great installment in a really great series - one of my lifelong favorites in fact. I have even made my way through a few untranslated albums with the help of translation software, just to experience the stories.
