I don't know enough about art to properly classify the artwork of Robert Williams, but as they say, I know what I like. His paintings tend to have a pop culture feel to them, and the imagery borders on surreal and psychedelic, the latter of which is probably why the introduction to the book was written by Timothy Leary. Williams' art is typically crowded with an eye-bending amount of imagery, and Williams takes the uncommon approach of taking the time to explain the images and visual show more representations of each of the sixty oil paintings inside, even going as far to include close-ups and sketches of specific sections under examination. With his art being such a wild trip, it is special treat to have him tag along as the tour guide for this collection. If you like your art edgy and controversial (the artist even offers an "Index Based on Social Mores" to help guide the reader to Socially Unacceptable, Overtly Sexual, and Gratuitously Violent pieces), then you will definitely want to check out some of Robert Williams' deviant art. show less
I especially like: Glenn Barr, Alex Gross, Scott Musgrove, Mark Ryden, Todd Schorr, Shag, Robert Williams, Xno.
I was unenthused by: Kalynn Campbell, Joe Coleman, Charles Kraft, Liz Mcgrath, Niagra, Lisa Petrucci.
Everything else somewhere in the middle. Good collection, with interesting introductory text. Would be better if I had the hard copy (rather than the ebook).

One of his first books showcasing his art. His paintings are always an overload for the eyes. Very distinctive style. Very creative titles for each painting that usually string for a whole paragraph!
A huge book of Robert Williams paintings. Excellent overload of sensory art. Best titles ever for paintings.
