Wyoming Wilderness Survival delivers a fierce, faith-rooted journey through unforgiving terrain where danger waits behind every tree and justice feels as treacherous as icy mountain passes. The pursuit by ruthless killers forces Tracey and Callum into the deep wilds with a vulnerable child in tow, navigating cliffs, wildlife, and their own haunted pasts. The setting itself feels like a crucible testing what vengeance truly costs—and what forgiveness demands.

The story holds nothing back show more about the destructive power of hatred. “…hadn’t God said that vengeance was His and promised to deliver it in His way and in His time? Hadn’t Jesus warned people against indulging hatred in their hearts? … because hatred destroyed the heart that harbored it.” These words give the chase weight beyond survival, offering a sober reminder that taking justice into human hands can destroy the soul long before enemies do.

Amid roaring rivers and shadowy woods, there is the steady call to grace. “Forgiveness … is about setting the offended party free mentally and emotionally to lead a healthy life.” The characters’ choices reflect the raw, sometimes reluctant surrender required to trust God and His timing. This thread of obedience and dependence on Him brings quiet power to the relentless suspense.

Jill Elizabeth Nelson proves herself a skilled storyteller who doesn’t sacrifice spiritual truth for the sake of thrills. Wyoming Wilderness Survival balances heart-pounding tension with a clear-eyed reckoning with sin, mercy, and the promise of freedom that comes only when vengeance is left in God’s hands. A stark, beautifully Christian adventure of survival in the wildest places—both on the map and in the heart.

Wyoming Wilderness Survival by Jill Elizabeth Nelson is an action-packed tale. I was drawn into the story right away. There is action, danger, and suspense. I liked that I could feel the tension and the character’s emotions. The Fairburn’s were cruel and relentless. The pair use their influence and money to ensure that they got their desired outcome (revenge). I thought Tracey and Callum were great characters. There was definitely chemistry between them. I also liked Callum’s son, show more Brody and his protective dog, Bo. Callum, Tracey, and Bo made a indomitable threesome. They will need every advantage if they are to survive the mercenaries after Tracey. The author’s vivid descriptions allowed me to envision Callum’s cabin and the Wind River Mountain Range. I would not want to go into those woods without bear spray. I do not know how you can forgive such cruel individuals as the Fairburn’s. That is the lesson that continues to elude me. I enjoyed the epilogue which nicely wrapped up the story. I like it when I finish a book smiling. Wyoming Wilderness Survival is captivating tale with a framed EMT, a wrecked transport, a fleeing fugitive, prosperous sore losers, a rambling bruin, a helpful woodsman, a protective canine, a helicopter with killers, and a blossoming romance. show less
"No legitimate plane should be near Hayley Brent's remote Alaskan cabin this time of year - and her fears are confirmed when gunshots fly her way. When one of the weapon smugglers on board claims to be an undercover ATF agent, Hayley must decide fast whether she believes him because with vicious pursuers and a blizzard closing in, Sean O'Keefe may be the only hope of surviving . . ." As the story begins, the scene is set with great descriptions of the Alaskan frontier. The author writes an show more original plot with interesting depth of characters. The shared history loss of a family member ribbons through the book complicating the ability to trust each other which makes for a compelling read. Action-packed read that will keep you turning the pages. show less
While I already knew much of what was explained in this book, the way it was laid out and the quick exercises to complete gave me a new, deeper understanding of deep PoV. This book contains tidbits that took all the puzzle pieces I already knew and worked with, and slotted them together in a way that has changed my viewpoint while strengthening my prose. Plus, being free on KU, if you happen to know everything already you aren't out anything.

This is a quick, powerful read, and I recommend show more it for all writers. show less
