Someone once saw this book on my shelf and said it sounded like a manual for a highly specialized vacuum cleaner.

Which makes me laugh. It is also a thorough going and surprisingly readable resource for understanding the nuance of particles.
Incredibly comprehensive with hundreds of citations, this is the most important reference to the meaning of particles in the ancient Greek language.
