Commies, crooks, gypsies, spooks & poets : thirteen books of Prague in the year of the Great Lice Epidemic by Jan Novak
Jan Novak was born and grew up in Czechoslovakia, in a Provincial Town of Thirty Thousand Souls. He frequently reminds us of this fact, with capital letters. There are many such capital letters in the book and if Egregiously Unnecessary and Pretentious Capitalization annoys you, this is not the book for you. Aside from this eccentric authorial quirk, the narrative of Novak's return to his native land with family in tow, in the wake of the collapse of Communism, is often interesting. The show more story of the lice epidemic is particularly memorable, with a surprising denouement. show less
Četl jsem kdysi román a teď i comicsovou verzi, román mi sedl víc, protože má víc prostoru na to se téhle látce věnovat podrobněji, včetně motivací a osudů postav, jednotlivých krizových situací a podobně. Comics je až moc zkratkovitý.
Rudolf Vrba a Alfréd Wetzler. (fonte: csfd.cz) show less
