An older book but very frank about the challenges of being a missionary in China.
After conversion to Christ as a young man, Jonathan Goforth eventually arrived in China with his wife Rosalind. They endured incredible hardships, including the loss of their first child to malaria. They fled for their lives from the Boxer Rebellion. Deeply inspired by a reading of "Finney's Revival Lectures", Goforth set out with renewed determination and faith to spearhead a revival which rarely has been equaled in the history of modern missions.

Candid, interesting account of early mission work in China.
