"Nothing good ever happens after 2a.m."

"After Midnight" is insane. Brilliantly insane. If you've ever seen the Martin Scorsese picture After Hours, it's that with Dylan Dog in place of Griffin Dunne, along with the comic's usual blend of the macabre.

This is the kind of madcap nightmare activity I've come to expect from Sclavi.

What to say about Dylan Dog, Nightmare Detective? The way things are arranged in this collection, it seems as though the writer started out with clear intentions: write noir stories about the supernatural and the detectives who, logically, are able to deal with it.

However, those intentions seem to erode, and the stories through the collection get more and more surreal, until we're almost in Promethea/Alan Moore territory. The supernatural won't stay as cut and dried as "monster of the week." show more It just gets weird, and I liked it. show less

This is magnificent! After reading up a bit on Dylan Dog (the comic character, not the movie version), this is what I was expecting. It's weird, it's terrifying, it's thrilling.

One thing that really did it for me with this one was the narration throughout. This guy, really only tangentially connected to the case (knew one of the victims), becomes almost an integral part of it.

"Memories of the Invisible World" is just great from start to finish.

Por ter gostado tanto do filme Dellamorte Dellamore do Soavi me senti obrigada a conhecer Dylan Dog do Sclavi, talvez tenha feito a escolha errada por ser de histórias curtas,muito embora a última delas seja tão bela e poética quanto o filme que tanto me encantou.
