A series of thoughtful conversations between Laura Dern and her mother Diane Ladd as they go on walks to increase Diane's lung capacity after an exposure to toxic chemicals.

And yet, who told us we're supposed to be nothing but upbeat around people who are sick and dying? ....What if these show more walks are my last chance to hear her stories? (Laura, 79)

I have always loved Laura Dern! She's been one of my favorite actors since I was in college--Mask and Blue Velvet were my first introductions to her. I haven't seen everything she's been in, by a long shot! But I've seen many of her movies, and I loved her in the first season of Big, Little Lies. (I need to watch the rest of that!)
Diane Ladd is a fixture of Hollywood, in my opinion. She's been around for ages, rubbed elbows with all the top names, was married to Bruce Dern (among other men), show more and plays Clark Griswold's mother in Christmas Vacation! So of course I love her!
This was a beautiful exchange between mother and daughter, brought on by an urgent need to help Diane get through a difficult struggle with heart disease. As they work together on getting Diane's health to improve, Laura recorded their conversations. There are a few recipes included, some photos of each, together and separate. But the best part is their conversations. It honestly makes me want to spend more time with my own mother! And it really validated my almost obsessive love for my own kids! show less

I love both these actresses but this was 25% charming and 75% grating.
