4.0 out of 5 stars A Mellow Video, May 16, 2005
Since others have ably described what is on the video, I will not repeat, but only add my voice to those that describe Good Night, Gorilla as a mellow, easy-listening sort of children's video.
My only complaint, again like some other reviewers, is that the story of "The Hat" is strangely discordant and out of line with the rest of the stories. Instead of being soft spoken with mellow music, it is loud and 'violent' with fires, show more shooting, and talk about cannons. Not something I would have my little ones' introduced to, especially not before bed.
That said, I wouldn't let this one story keep you from buying this wonderful video. show less

A funny book that allows a reader to use their own sense of imagination to fill in the blanks. So creative!
Stories are made from the Johnson illustrations, with a good narrator and quiet music.
One of the stories was kind of frightening to my 4-year-old grandson, but I don't remember which. Oddly, he never had a problem with another "kids" video that I considered much more nightmare-worthy (a Star Wars spin-off).
(Dates are approximately the first viewing. My grandkids watched these frequently when ages 2-4.)

This book is about a dinosaurs nightly bedtime antics will be relate able for many early childhood students. They will see the concept of cause and effect through what the dinosaur does and how the parents react. They will see different morals come into play with respect and how a family should treat each other. Its a fun book to use to discuss behavior and they could even substitute their own cause and effects by asking them questions.
