Langenscheidt's Compact French Dictionary: French-English English-French (Langenscheidt Compact Dictionaries) by Kenneth Urwin
It's a French dictionary. It's pretty good. It is big enough that it has all of the weird aviation terminology in Saint-Exupery's Vol de Nuit, but small enough that I can carry it around reasonably easily. Sadly for the 12-year old boy I carry around in my head, it doesn't have any dirty words, to speak of. Oh, well.
I bought this old dictionary in Montreal, Canada when I was learning French. IT was clear and concise, but it also had most of the words that I was concerned to look up. I'd recommend the latest edition, however.
