Has a small amount of information not found in other field guides, and it is handily divided by bioregion. The pictures aren't so hot, though, and the notes are peppered with mini-ads for the author's line of herbal books and videos. It would have been less intrusive to confine those to the author's biography, or to have included them in the appendix of resources. His herb notes lean towards the alarmist - I expected heavy warnings with such controversial herbs as comfrey and chaparral, but show more was surprised to see rather dire warnings attached to skullcap and red clover. In short, ok, and a moderately helpful supplemental text, but nowhere near as useful as Tilford or Moore's guides to medicinal plants. show less
one of many frustrating books that shows a flower for identification but not the whole plant so that when the flower is not present, very difficult to know what plant looks like. Overall good, clean easy layout
