The author collected stories about dogs and then tied elements of those stories to Bible stories to create a sort of devotional format. I chose to read it as a book rather than as devotionals (where I usually read 1 or 2 at a time). Because of this, I began to feel that the book was rather long. I did enjoy the stories about various dogs (though I did also think that toward the end of the book, some of the stories were not as compelling as some of the earlier ones.
This book made me want to get a dog. I loved the inspirational stories about the amazing dogs that were featured. But the connecting devotionals made it even more special. Much enjoyed and appreciated.
Review: The Cat Lover’s Devotional by M R Wells, Connie Fleishauer, Dottie P Adams.
A different kind of genre for me but sometimes it takes grandchildren to move my reading habits in a different direction. I did enjoy the book and it was a fast pace book filled with creative ingenuity for cat lover’s and Christians.
This book is multitude inspirational stories using felines as the instigators, co-conspirators, and plot driven creatures who deliver their messages in a highly productive show more manner to entice the reader through quotes from the bible to redeem themselves in a positive way.
Most cat lovers would agree they are our feline friends who are self-focused and want their own way no matter who their masters are….. Short and sweet….Do I mean the book, the cats or the grandchildren…. show less

A book for dog lovers full of short solemn stories. The book is divided into 5 parts; Heart to Heart, Obedience Training, Meal Choices, To Heel or Not to Heel, Master Knows Best. Just beyond the foreword, the reader gets to meet the pups. There are images of seven dogs and each tells a little about their beed, description and personality. The stories draw the reader into a faith based journey with scripture provided. The story where Morgan (dog) is taken to the vet because it's feared he may show more have distemper was thought provoking. I could just imagine setting at the vet, cuddling any one of my three dogs, the way Morgan was being cuddled. As it turned out, Morgan did not have distemper. It seemed Morgan was lost but God helped restore him. show less
