Saving God's Green Earth: Rediscovering the Church's Responsibility to Environmental Stewardship by Tri Robinson
This book was a library find. It makes the case for Christian environmental stewardship from an Evangelical perspective. Essentially Tri Robinson argues for the care of nature because, creation matters to God, nature is one of the places we meet God, and good stewardship of natural resources enables us to care for our fellow humans (i.e. clean water, is an environmental and a human ethical issue). This book is about six years old, slightly dated and is really aimed at igniting environmental show more concern amoung evangelicals who don't care about this issue (or don't know why they should). It is slightly dated, not particularly deep but has some good things to say. Each of the chapters is broken up by profiles of Evangelicals who are passionate about environmental stewardship. show less
The concepts is Tri's latest book are great and the message is much needed. While not novel ideas by any means, I loved the way he paired the idea of reducing our footprint with increasing our handprint. However, the writing could have been better. If fact, from a proof reading standpoint I found more than a half dozen errors. Furthermore, the "Let's take a look at another king ..." and the reference to King Hezekiah on page 107 was completely out of place considering the example was Joseph. show more That being said, the book was a quick and easy read that will benefit and equip many in the church to render down their lives so as to love the world more extravagantly. show less
Saving God's Green Earth: Rediscovering the Church's Responsibility to Environmental Stewardship by Tri Robinson
This is a well written book by Tri Robinson, a pastor of a growing church in Boise, Idaho, about why Christians should take care of God's creation.
Giving people a place to practice their faith may require facilities the community lacks. Discipleship is a verb, not a spectator sport.. Missional activity means we need the right kind of space. If people are experiencing the Kingdom, your campus grows out of that.
