Fascinating idea behind the main storyline of this with a young traveller thrown into grief and fatherhood all at once. Timothy's journey (as with Prema's in the secondary storyline) was well described in fine detail so the contrast between who they were when the story began and who they became as it ended made heartbreaking and at times joyful sense. The thought of "will Timothy ever move forward enough to make the journey back to Canada with Isaac?" kept me going (although there were many show more times when the narrative was a little too full with minor details and the pace slowed down too much for my liking). show less
The Eve Tree is plucked from the headlines in that it is set amidst the California wildfires. It is the story of one family - the relationships and the conflicts - as they strive to save their family land and the main character Molly. The book does a wonderful job of conveying the anticipation of the fire and disaster coming. A great read!

Sweet musings of a mother that made me smile. It was honest and real and heart warming.
The story of two young Canadians traveling in India searching for themselves and finding love. It included good descriptions of living in India and various interesting characters.
