Absolutely loved!
I've really enjoyed so many (okay...all) of the books in this series, but seriously, Jackie and Beck's story tops them all--second chance romance at its best! (Plus, as a bonus, Mitch shows up several times, wearing his trademark smart-aleck t-shirts. I. Love. Mitch. Even though I'd probably want to smother him with a pillow IRL. IDK how Caroline puts up with him...he's so...Mitch.)
Jackie and Beck had me from the very first page, and I honestly didn't want to put the book show more down until I was sure that they'd not only survive everything that Ms. Evans and Ms. Giordano threw at them but that they'd also manage to find their HEA in the end. And oh my goodness, did they ever get things thrown at them--just when you thought there couldn't possibly be one more disastrous thing added to their very full plate, you found out just how wrong you were! Fortunately, the authors made everything all right in the end--but whoa, it was pretty tense for a while there, like for about 281 pages... ;)
Defending Justice would work just fine as a standalone--Beck and Jackie's story doesn't at all involve any of the other stories in the series. Several of the other series characters show up throughout, but you don't have to have read their stories to enjoy them here.

Opposing Forces by Adrienne Giordano
Private Protectors Series #6
Two people that should not have found one another do so in this book in which Jack is avoiding relationships but has a skillset that Jillian needs to feel secure. Whether or not Jack can achieve his goals regarding his addiction, and she can overcome her aversion to people with such problems is only part of this action-packed thrill ride that includes a big helping of romance.
What I liked:
* Jack’s integrity, honesty, and show more team spirit. He has plenty of confidence and seems to know himself well. He is perfect in many ways but does have a flaw that could pose a problem to any woman, and especially to Jillian.
* Jillian’s desire to succeed professionally, work hard, and do what is right. Her background has created trust issues and a need to run rather than confront. If she can overcome and grow then she and Jack might have a future together
* The story’s plot, timing and the way it was told.
* Learning a bit about big pharmaceutical companies and how things can be “fiddled”
* The supporting characters that work with Jack
* That Jack and Jillian together were able to overcome just about everything thrown at them
* That the story ended on a happy note with a HFN ending and positive potential for the couple
What I didn’t like:
* The bad guys…wasn’t supposed to like them and it was easy to do just that
* Knowing that addiction is a big issue in the world, it impacts the addicted and also impacts the family and those close to the person with the addiction.
Did I enjoy this book? Yes
Would I read more in this series/by this author? Yes
Thank you to the author for the ARC – This is my honest review.

Just when you think you've dodged a bullet and avoided having sex with your boss' soon-to-be cougar ex-wife who bought you in a charity auction, you are arrested in the middle of the night for her murder. And who strolls in to defend you - unannounced, unrequested, and unwanted - but an old flame from a fabulous, never-to-be forgotten weekend fling in college. And that's not the only big surprise, but you'll need to read this latest Justice Series book, Defending Justice, to find show more out.
Defending Justice, Book 7 in The Justice Team Series by Adrienne Giordano & Misty Evans, takes off running and never slows down. Beckett Pearson is a former model and football star, and an FBI Special Agent. Jackie DelRay is a former prosecutor turned defense attorney, known for her toughness. Beck and Jackie have history both professional and private, secrets and animosity between them. Beck doesn't want anything to do with Jackie, but his career, and possibly his life, are on the line and she might be his one hope at staying out of prison. She needs to see justice done and is determined to save him.
As always, the Justice Team promises - and delivers - a thrilling story packed with action, passion, danger, romance, snappy dialogue and a lot of humor. The scene where Josh walks in while Beck and Jackie are "at" her desk had me laughing. And I really want to meet Mini-Beck.
The story is set amidst the Washington, D.C. backdrop of political alliances, greed, corruption and murder. It's fast-paced with suspense and twists that you don't see coming but with a satisfying resolution. The characters are well-developed and believable. Jackie and Beck are stubborn and at times reckless but oh, so likeable, and the tension between them, sexual and otherwise, sizzles.
I am a fan of the Justice Team and highly recommend this latest adventure. I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest review; my review is completely honest and voluntary. Go to the website and read all the books. You won't be sorry. show less

Into The Fire: A Gripping Amateur Sleuth Mystery (A Rose Trudeau Mystery Book 1) by Adrienne Giordano
This grabbed me right from the start. I just love Rose and Rae. Rae had written an excellent article about fraud, but when the man went to jail, the whole town turned against her because it hurt the economy. She was getting death threats. So, she decided to write an article on the 30th anniversary of a deadly fire in a hotel. The one person she wanted to talk to, Rose, has ignored her for a long time and so, since she wanted to get out of town, Rae heads to California to see Rose. Rose isn't show more any happier to see Rae in person. At least on the phone she could hang up on her. But, Rose thinks it might be time to get it all out in the open and get some justice for those that died. As Rae and Rose investigate, they are told constantly to leave it alone and they uncover some very nasty things about a lot of people. Even Rose's own beloved husband and son. Will Rae get the article printed after all? show less
