Just One Kiss by Susan Hatler is a 2016 Hatco publishing release. I was provided a copy of this book by the publisher and Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
Wow, what cleverly written romantic comedy!
Charlie gave up her acting dreams so her husband could make the big time. But, after finding him in a compromised position with a rock groupie, the couple are divorced and all Charlie has left is a mansion she can’t afford to keep.
She will have to sell the house or she can write a show more tell all book exposing all the ex’s ugly secrets, or she can allow her favorite soap opera to use the house for filming. Which is how she ended up scoring a role on “Just One Love’ and where she meets dashing soap star, Luke Montgomery. The chemistry between them sizzles on screen and off screen, but when Charlie gets a chance to pursue her dreams, she may have to make a choice between acting and pursuing a relationship with Luke.
This is a really cute romantic comedy, which had me laughing out loud, but what was really striking was how the author paralleled the soap opera script in with the events taking shape off screen. This is a nice touch and gave the book a charming quality that simply dazzled.
I enjoyed the behind the scenes drama with the soap opera, and I thought it was cool how Charlie and Rex finally resolve things. But, of course, seeing Charlie finally have her long overdue chance at success come to fruition and dreaming Luke Montgomery too, was divine.
I always enjoy Susan Hatler’s romantic comedies because of her ability to balance the two with just the right amount of conflict. Her stories are romantic and sweet and perfect for any occasion.

This was a fun read full of laughs and some great adventures, along with a cure wee dog called Moose all in the name of retrieving a wedding charm for Jill so she can get married. Sarah and Ben appear to have been rivalries since they met at school years ago, well from Sarah's point of view anyway and the thought of his competitiveness coming out and being close to him at the wedding is not good nor her attraction to him. Next thing she knows her and Ben are stuck together pretending to be show more Jill and her fiance Ryan and oh how the fun really begins leaving you laughing and enjoying the tasks they need to complete while learning more about each other and learning truths about the past and the present!

This is a great young to grown up second chance romance where there are plenty of laughs, totally awkward moments mixed in with some sad moments and a twist you don';t see coming that could ruin the chance of a happy ever after for Claire and Alex. I really enjoyed this book, the characters are great and you really connect with them, even those that irritate you like Missy and I will be going back to read more in the series as they are the perfect book to read no matter your mood as they show more will make you smile and leave you happy.

Lacey has always been driven, she has had to be due to her upbringing and now she is close to her life goal but she wasn't counting on Christmas Mountain and the amazing place it is. I loved how Jacob challenged Lacey to a certain extent as well as how they are so well matched to each other with how opposite they are to the TV show coming to town. There are loads of laughs, some awkward moments, awesome townsfolk, a beautiful setting and storyline and characters that have you turning the show more page and enjoying the book start to finish.
