This is an enjoyable (but long) browse and will have you searching Allmusic.com and your favorite music streaming service to figure out who some of these performers are and whether they are worth listening to. However, the few pages of text aren't well written or informative, and the selection is sort of haphazard, although some of the juxtapositions of similar looking covers are well done.

beautiful actually.. i didn't' realize taschen's books are not so much a coffee table book as it is a story. not one to leaf through, it needs to be seen from beginning to end. I like how the records are thematically represented, and plenty of odd stuff to find here as well.

A fun book, especially if you used to own some of the albums. I owned a lot of these, and got rid of them when I moved to Alaska. So this book is a fun romp through musical history.

Bought this book as a Christmas gift for a friend who's a former disc jockey. Loads of interesting covers. Because he's not a booklover, he was more interested in framing his favorites and displaying on his walls! lol.
