An interesting tale of an alternate reality in the 1920's where devils and demons run amok and are hunted by the brothers and sisters of the Magdalene Order. The main character, Rosette, is accompanied by a tame demon named Chrono on her adventures and all sorts of wackiness ensues. I really like this one, and the anime version does the manga justice. The action is pretty frenetic and gets difficult to follow at some points, but overall the manga is a good read.
Chrono-Crusade 1 centers around Christian religion, but its actual themes are much more wide-reaching. The main character is Sister Rosette, part of an order of nuns. This (entirely fictional) Order uses heavy weapons and explosive holy water ammo to quell and exorcise demons. Rosette's "side-kick", the other main character, is Chrono. He is a demon, voluntarily bound to serve her. They make for a very interesting and dynamic duo.

The first part of the volume establishes what a trouble-maker show more Rosette is. The rest of manga focuses on their mission, which is to rescue an angel from a demon-summoner. The whole thing is kind of a fun romp. They don't go too heavy on the religion but Rosette has a strong live-life-to-the-fullest motto which really comes through in the manga. show less
A battle between the forces of good and the forces of evil. Angels, Demons, and...Nuns. Yep, Nuns that kick butt.

The premise is good and the story is easy to follow, though the action tends to go from 0 to 60 on a dime then 60 to 0 just as fast.

Worth a read.

New friends and new enemies on our journey to find Joshua. This volume is one of those that drops the hype after an arc climax as the next arc tries to pick up steam. New arcs tend to bring new characters like Satella and new villains like Rizelle. Hopefully the next volume picks up the excitement.
