Sunday Morning Quilts: 16 Modern Scrap Projects Sort, Store, and Use Every Last Bit of Your Treasured Fabrics by Amanda Jean Nyberg
Though I am an ‘older’ quilter ( I think middle-aged feels better), I surprisingly found “Sunday Morning Quilts” by Cheryl Arkison and Amanda Jean Nyberg, a ‘Modern’ quilting book to be refreshingly ‘friendly’ to my style of traditional and art quilting. I had originally borrowed this book from my public library to see what they considered to be ‘Modern” quilting. I expected to dislike this book, but after borrowing it, I had to get one for myself!
For one thing, I did not show more think ‘Modern’ quilting included scrap quilts. Sunday Morning Quilts is all about scrap quilting! Not only do I believe in the motto of Arkison’s and Nyberg’s where every last scrap should be used up in quilts, but there are some quilts in Sunday Morning Quilts, that are simply gorgeous! Of course, there are a couple quilts in the book, that I won’t be making, but when I purchase a book, I never like all of the quilts, just a majority of them or some super good-looking ones. In this book by Arkison and Nyberg, I found I enjoyed most of the quilts, and there are some super, great quilt patterns here! If you enjoy scrap quilting (or modern quilting), then, this is a great book for you!
