I absolutely ended up loving this book, even though the beginning was hard to read personally as I grew up with a stepdad who abused alcohol, so it was still a raw nerve to chafe against but when Trey quit booze just to have a better chance at having Sierra back again it became an easier read - and then it became great!

The plot is fantastic! Trey's desperation to get his ex-wife back, all the unspoken past between them, the secrets, the hurt and the love. Even with a setting as dark as this show more Shameless was still great romance without being too angsty ( after you get through Chapter 1 ), it had lust, passion, broken hearts, hope and forgiveness that made it so worthwhile reading! Shameless is a story of hope, love and forgiveness in the greatest country town in the world, Nashville!

I was thoroughly invested in Sierra and Trey's relationship, after they met again in chapter two I was sold, there was so much passion there some visible, some hidden and some tried to be buried rising to the surface. Trey's alcoholic past screwed up everything, and it was so hard to read the parts where he regretted his actions with such soul twisting hurt that it was impossible to stop reading the book. Of course Sierra wasn't without blame either, but her secrets to why she let the marriage go are just as heart breaking as Trey's. But then there's the passion between them and the love and it makes up for all past wrongs! And that was beautiful to read! And I rooted for the Happy Ending the whole time - and was so happy to receive it - but it seems these two will have to work on their relationship as long as they stay together, and I loved that realistic note at the end.

Shameless is a sensual story packed full of passion, temptation and forbidden love – even though the story isn’t full of love scenes it’s the “I shouldn’t, almost giving into” temptation Sierra goes through around Trey even though she’s engaged to another man, and the desperate passion to have her in his bed again that Trey feels every time she’s close that make this book seriously HOT!

You'll love this if... you like your heroes broken but willing to fix themselves for their greatest love, if you like reading your heroes chasing after their girl, and if you like your country singers absolutely loyal and looking like a sexy linebacker with a killer smile.

With $0.99 this is an awesome find, I recommend it highly!

REVIEW: DEACON (STARKIS FAMILY #1) BY CHERYL DOUGLAS

Deacon by Cheryl DouglasMy rating: 4 of 5 starsDeacon is rich, manipulative, dramatic and obsessive. Mia is committed to making her own way in the world. Her career is her main focus. She wants to be remembered as more than just a pretty face. That secure put together image she projects on the outside is a facade. Inside she is unsure of herself. That insecurity causes her to make bad choices in her personal life. Deacon is the story of two emotionally damaged individuals. They are a train wreck together but can't break free of each other. Dramatic, provocative and disturbing read that tantalizes the senses. Received a copy of Deacon in exchange for an honest review.View all my reviews

For some reason, this is the second series that I have come across in the past month that has been written about my hometown. I must say I am quite excited about this small fact. Reading about books that are written in a place that I know like the back of my hand, makes everything about this book so much more vivid to me as I am reading it. It’s like I can picture exactly what everything is and not have to “imagine” it, you know? Aside from that tiny detail, there are so many reasons show more as to why this book just did it for me.

Lexi. She reminds me so much of me that it’s just a little bit uncanny. Here you have this amazing strong women who is so driven in her quest to create this life so different from her past, that she doesn’t realize she is letting her past run her present. In an effort to move on, she has go go back and face the biggest, most horrible thing that happened to her, which could also put her right in harms way. Along for the ride just happens to be the one man her heart can’t forget about, Josh Cooper.

Josh is pretty amazing in his own right. Being the body guard to her sisters famous husband means that Lexi sees alot of him. Josh knows his heart wants Lexi, but having been told that she doesn’t want to settle down with a family, his heart also knows that Lexi is off limits if he has any hopes of getting married and raising kids again. Of course, the heart wants what the heart wants and after some amazingly awesome “adult time” – you really can’t keep emotions in check.

Watching the two of them battle their inner demons as well as the outer ones had me rooting for them as well as wanting to give them both a good swift kick! The flow of this story was perfect. I honestly didn’t see some of the twist coming, but they fit right in with the way the book was going. I laughed an awful lot with this book – but I must admit that it made me tear up just a little bit too. Then again, most good books do! Josh and Lexi pull at your heart strings in this one, but you just can’t help being on their team!

Aside from those two, this book had family dynamic out the ying yang. I LOVED Josh’s twin boys. I about died laughing every time one of them opened their mouths. Talk about mature for their age! I can only hope my daughter has that kind of smarts when she is 16! Sheesh! You will not be disappointed in this book and I cannot wait for the 3rd installment!

I love reconciliation marriage books.
I liked there was no cheating on either side. Both had opportunity if they had given encouragement to other interested parties but esp the husband expresses he only ever wanted his wife.
I was a bit puzzled with some actions early on.
They split at the start, the heroine pushes for it, the Hero reluctantly agrees.
Then the story jumps 6 months on, the heroine is going on a date, her friend told her her husband, the Hero recently was seen on a date with show more another woman.
The Hero later clarifies his brother pressured him to go, just as the friend of the wife pressures her to go, and neither of them connect with their dates.
I just didn't understand the Hero.
He didn't want to move out and split but what did he do in the 6 months that followed the initial split to get back together?
Why did he give in to pressure to date the other woman? He didn't seem to have enough backbone to me.
His dating could have led to a permenant split/divorce if things had worked out differently.
I liked they both accepted responsibility for the breakdown in their relationship.
Dual POV.
Secondary characters drop breadcrumbs for possible future storylines.
They do some very honest conversations, that are very realistic.
