Widow Lady Anne is confronted at her country estate by her brother-in-law, who believes her to be a scandalous trollop based on letters he received from his brother asking for money. Needless to say these are lies and the brother is the one with the bad reputation. When the Marquess of Crewe reveals she has been left an inheritance from his father but that he is the trustee, she blackmails him into taking her to London for the season and determines to somehow make him do something show more scandalous. She nicknames him Pastor Max. This had an interesting premise but everything was a little over the top and the revenge just kept going. Then there was a quick end. I would have preferred a more gradual change in both their attitudes. show less
