Another book I finally took the time to read cover-to-cover instead of just dipping into for reference. A must-read for anyone with an interest in the octavo edition of Audubon's Birds, filled with excellent useful details about the production of the volumes and their subsequent editions.
I read this for a Texas History course I had this semester. This is one of the better textbooks I've used in a non-English college course. Straightforward, very to the point, stays on topic, and the writer presents facts like he should. Read the entire book and I'm so glad it counts towards my reading challenge.
Also, a sidenote, I give major props to the author for mentioning the Dallas Stars in Chapter 14 with the other sports team, it is nice to be recognized as a legit Texas sports team show more instead of being overlooked. show less

A collection of the voices of over 100 elderly, former slaves in which they describe what life was like under slavery in Texas. The narrations were collected by WPA interviewers in the late 1930's
An excellent history of the region, and of the origins of the park. Covers roughly 1840 to 1940. GPO publication, LC F392.B54T9 74-23533
